The history of the Hotel Tonic began in 1979 with the dream of the Trieste brothers, originally from the Madonie, who, driven by great ambition and a strong passion for tourism, decided to create a small family-run business in the beating heart of the Sicilian capital.
The hotel was built inside an ancient noble palace, dating back to the early twentieth century, of which it still retains some peculiarities, including the splendid Liberty-style staircase and some cementine floors.
Historic hotel in Palermo, it began its activity as a two-star hotel, with a few rooms and a small reception. In a short time, the management was taken over by just one of the brothers and his son, today the sole owner of the hotel.
The small building with six rooms slowly begins to acquire new spaces, also expanding in height with the achievement of three more floors. The creation of new rooms and the breakfast room allow it to increase its standards and services and to earn the third star. However, achieving this goal does not put an end to the desire for growth. Over the years, in fact, numerous renovation works have been carried out aimed at making the hotel increasingly comfortable and hospitable. The Agorà Room is created, a multipurpose common area that serves as both a TV and reading room, as well as a meeting room. The breakfast room is completely renovated, taking on a new, more welcoming and elegant layout. The Deluxe rooms with an exclusive round bed are created and older rooms are refreshed with new furnishings and bathrooms. The renovation and maintenance work never stops and there are many projects to complete. Passion and ambition are not lacking and we look forward to new goals...
